DID YOU EVER DREAM ABOUT GOING TO AMERICA?
This is the story of a journey undertaken in august 2008 - about stepping ashore in the New York harbor, travel westward in the footsteps of the immigrants that populated North America in 18th century and forward, to reach their designated goals and experience what they created.
The photos on this site is a modern journey through some of the worlds most exceptional landscapes, national parks and cities in the west formed by human ingenuity over only a few hundred years.
DID YOU EVER DREAM ABOUT HAVING RELATIVES IN AMERICA?
In 2007 a nice american couple came to my sisters office in the church in the small town Dragør, south of Copenhagen and asked for relatives of a sertain Hans Olesen Magleby born in 18th century. The couple were short of time and about to go back to US within a few days.
My sister mentioned the incident to my mother and she remembered a certain brother of her great grand mother Leisbeth Ole Magleby, who were awoken into the Mormon faith and later immigrated to America.
From there on things began to develop and after a few years my sister was invited with companion to a family reunion at the University in Provo, Utah.
I august 2008 I became the lucky travel companion and plans were quickly made. Thanks to our distant relatives in America, a complete travel plan were created addressing our wishes for sightseeing along the way.
Grand Canyon, native indian settlements, driving on the historic Route 66, Las Vegas, breath taking landscapes like the "Painted Desert" etc. etc. Indeed our wishes came true.
In the course of the trip we discovered that we, for most of our adult lives, both had wished to drive through USA!! And so we did! We rented a car in Las Vegas and parked it again in Monroe, where family took over!!
